Rod Watson

biography

Rod is a Director of de JAGER Executive Search in Australia, and joined the firm following a career in professional services. The majority of Rod's career has been spent improving the alignment between people performance and business outcomes through both enterprise leadership and building sustainable solutions for clients. Over the years, Rod's capability has been delivered across several cultures and geographies. Rod's primary responsibility in de JAGER Executive Search is the industrial sector with a focus on infrastructure - transport, utilities, social infrastructure (hospitals and schools) and the support of this growing sector such as project management and financing. Rod also supports de JAGERS Board Search Practice along with our initiatives in the Not For Profit Sector. During a career with DBM Inc, a global leader in career transition, lasting almost 12 years, Rod held leadership positions in North America, the Asia Pacific Region and global business development. Most recently, Rod was President, Pacific Region with responsibility for all operations in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. Prior to joining DBM, Rod worked as management consultant with Towers Perrin leading major strategic, organisation and change projects in Australia and overseas. After beginning working life as a psychologist, the early part of Rod's career journey focused on human resources in the transportation industry. Rod is on the Global Core Team IIC Partners Industrial Practice. Rod holds a BA in behavioural sciences from Macquarie University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business in the USA. Outside of work commitments, Rod devotes time to his family, travelling with wife Katie, working with the community and watching others in their sporting pursuits
