biography

Roland is a partner in Amrop’s Amsterdam office and a member of Amrop’s global Industrial and Energy & Infrastructure Practice Groups.

 

Roland began his professional career with Royal Dutch Shell where he participated in their international internship program in the Ivory Coast. Later he held commercial and senior management positions at Chevron Corporation in the United Kingdom and West Africa over a period of 14 years. While in the Ivory Coast for Chevron Roland was temporarily seconded to ExxonMobil. After gaining Blue-chip exposure, Roland returned to the Netherlands joining Rabobank International to bring Oil Major experience to their Renewable Energy & Infrastructure Finance team. This team provided project finance aimed at high profile global projects such as; large offshore wind farms, biomass and infrastructure. Following 7 years in Finance, he rejoined the oil sector working for the world’s 4th largest Energy trading house, Gunvor, prior to joining Amrop.

He holds a Masters Degree in Economics & Business Administration from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. He is a native Dutch speaker, who is fluent in English and possessing good working knowledge of French and German.

 

Roland joined Amrop as Partner in March 2016.

 

Roland has a broad international experience and extensively worked in West Africa, the post-Soviet states, the US and the EU. He has an in-depth knowledge of the strategic and operational landscape of the Oil & Gas Industry and the Renewable Energy sector. He focuses on executive, senior management and professional expert positions in the Industry, Energy and Infrastructure sectors.
