biography

Laura is focused on Harris's leadership practice including leadership training and business/leadership coaching.

A Certified Executive Coach (CEC), Laura has also achieved the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation through the International Coaching Federation. With coaching experience that spans from executive to front-line supervisors Laura's client base includes: for-profit; government; and non-profit leaders for local, regional and national organizations.

As the creator of Harris' Leadership Fundamentals 10-module program, Laura works with clients to customize the experience to sector or industry specific needs. Each module contains a practical exercise to allow managers to extrapolate their learning into the workplace. The unique train-the-trainer component allows organizations to continue the training once the initial workshops are complete.

Laura has also developed and/or delivered a variety of other workshops for organizations including:

Management skills workshops: Performance Coaching Meetings, Conducting Staff Meetings, Strategic Planning and Management, Recruitment, Interviewing and Selection.
Other Training: internal/external customer service training, career search and research; the business of running the business.

Laura presents on a variety of topics to business professionals both locally and provincially.

Laura's career prior to Harris includes representing her function at the senior management level in a mid-size, national company for over 10 years; and participating as a board member in the governance of a rapidly expanding $300,000,000+ retail sales organization. She has worked in privately owned and publically traded organizations as well as co-operatives.

Her experience also encompasses board leadership positions for organizations such as the Canadian Council of Human Resource Associations, The Human Resource Association of Manitoba and New Directions (former Children's home of Winnipeg)

Laura is a graduate from University of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, the Executive Development program at The Wharton School of Management (University of Pennsylvania), as well as Royal Roads University.
