biography

Doug Shufelt is a Principal with Leadership Capital Group who has 14 years of experience recruiting Presidents, CEO's, COO's, CFO's, VP Sales, VP Marketing, and Directors. He works closely with venture capital firms, private equity funds, and Board members to complete their most confidential and critical search assignments. In 1999, he co-founded Lexington Associates International, a Massachusetts- and Connecticut-based retained search firm. His clients include major corporations, private equity firms and their portfolio companies, ranging from Cummins Engine, Spherion, Thomas H. Lee, HarbourVest Partners, and entrepreneurial firms like OpenRoute Networks, InCert Software, Finetex, and Brooktrout. He is known as a tenacious recruiter who works diligently to successfully conclude every search assignment to the client's satisfaction.

Doug's industry experience includes returning troubled divisions to profitability, trading commodities, managing call centers, revamping customer service operations, and streamlining divisions for corporations including Ralph Lauren (Polo), Cranston Print Works (a Rockefeller-owned company), and MBI/The Danbury Mint (direct marketing).

Doug is a graduate of Dartmouth College with an Economics major and earned his MBA from The University of Michigan with a concentration in Finance. He speaks French and German conversationally. He has served as an Elder for Noroton Presbyterian Church (Darien, CT), as class Participation Co-Chair for the Dartmouth College Fund (for which he received a Trustees citation), and on the Boards of various non-profit organizations.

Doug resides in Fairfield County, CT and has three adult children who are gainfully employed. Doug enjoys skiing, fine dining, travel, classic movies, golf, and the arts.
