biography

Pri Notowidigdo is Managing Partner of Amrop in Indonesia which he founded in 1996. He was also a Board Member of Amrop’s Global Board (2009-2011). Other activities involve being a member of the Family Business and Management Assessment Practice Groups of Amrop as well as the Asia Pacific Regional Head of the Professional Services Practice Group of Amrop. In Indonesia, board advisory responsibilities include being a Member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee (NRC) of the Semen Gresik Group (2007-2010) and Bank Muamalat (2010 – now) as well. He was also an Advisor on change management for the National Legal Reform Programme (NLRP) of the International Monetary Fund (2009-2010). He has, moreover, become a Member of the Board of Advisors for the Indonesian Institute for Management Development / IPMI (2010-2011). Over 30 years of work experience included serving as the Partner in Charge of the Human Resources Consulting Practice in KPMG Peat Marwick for 7 years. This led to his starting up the Indonesian operations of Swiss-based TASA International Executive Search in 1994 where he was President Director. He also worked 4 years as Manager of the Human Resources Consulting Group for Price Waterhouse in Indonesia. In Canada, he worked 7 years as a Canadian Government Development Officer with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) as well as 2 years as Education Programme Officer with a non-profit organization called the Canadian University Service Overseas (CUSO) in Ottawa. Key areas of professional competence include executive search, leadership assessment, non-executive director search, remuneration advisory service, career transition management, leadership development, executive coaching, and strategic communication with a focus on cross-cultural effectiveness. He holds an Honours BA and an MA from Carleton University (Canada). He has lived 30 out of 64 years in Canada, India, and the United States. He has been back in Indonesia for the past 26 years. He speaks English, French, and Javanese as well as Indonesian. He is married to Janti, an Architect (Dipl Arch, ESA – Paris), and has a daughter called Nikita who is also an Architect (M Arch – University of Sydney) for BVN Architecture Firm in Sydney. Pri enjoys reading, writing, music, and travelling.
