Profile of Mr. Gopalan Nair



Mr. Gopal has been a Human Resource practitioner with over 22 years of experience. He gained professional qualifications in Human Resource Management and Behavioural Science of Management from the Society for International Development of Organizations. Mr. Gopalan also has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Human Services and Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, United States under a prestigious Ericsson scholarship program (Marcus Wallenberg Foundation).

He gained hands on experience while working in leading European and local SMI organizations; and non-profit human services organizations in the United States, in the following areas;

 Training Management, including training coordination, training needs analysis, etc.

In the human services field, Gopal has had hands-on experience in setting up and managing residential and day habilitation services for the developmentally disabled in collaboration with the Department of Human Services, New Hampshire State, United States.

Gopal has also undergone extensive training in micro-enterprise development and project management for international agencies such as; United Nations, Ford Foundation, Gopal is actively involved in consulting roles among SMI companies involved in manufacturing and services. He has undertaken the following projects:

• Developing human resource policy, procedures and job description.

• Designing and producing marketing and corporate communication materials/literature.

• Managing human resource function on an outsourced basis.

• Handling Industrial relations matters.

• Liasion with government agencies to obtain approvals.
