biography
Daniel Lau is a Partner of Amrop China and located in Shanghai. Before Amrop Daniel was Director of a business consultancy firm providing strategic and advisory consulting services in various markets. Prior to that, he was Managing Partner for another global top 10 retained executive search firm in China, by which he had personally engaged in senior searches for many renowned multinational and Chinese clients from a wide range of industry sectors including automotive, materials and equipment, natural resources and energy, food and beverages, packaging, consumer and retail, and business services, etc. He was also advisor to their Technologies and Life Science Practices in searches for senior management, commercial, supply chain and corporate roles. During the tenure, Daniel was instrumental in widening the business portfolio to include executive evaluation for China and Asia with high client satisfaction.
Before the consulting and executive search industries, Daniel enjoyed a 25 years’ distinguished career with Shell. He held executive positions spanning general management, sales and marketing and contracts procurement management in Greater China and Canada, and acquired extensive China and JV experience as well as a sound understanding of those industries that use oil and its downstream products.
He was former Chairman of Hong Kong LPG Safety and Technical Committee, Honorable Advisor of Zhapu Economic Development Zone in Zhejiang province and Board Director of Hong Kong Dutch Business Association.
Daniel received his bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Calgary, Canada. He is married and has 2 children.
