biography

Mark is a Principal and Co-Founder of NorthWind Search Partners, a premier executive search firm singularly committed to government-centric (aerospace, defense, high-tech, and professional services) companies, which gives them unique insight into the Defense, Civilian, and Intelligence arenas. Mark’s primary mission is filling integral leadership roles for clients surrounding defense and intelligence/national security initiatives. Driven by a commitment to the federal arena and its leaders, Mark spends a significant amount of time in the Washington DC area and around the country.

During his career in the technology space,

Mark has successfully completed over 200

searches across the executive spectrum including directors, all tiers of vice presidents, presidents, and CXOs. He is frequently retained to evaluate & deliver executives in core leadership functions: operations, business development, finance, and corporate development & strategy. Mark has worked with clients ranging from Super 8(a)s and venture-funded SBAs to Fortune-ranked tier one systems integrators. His priority is to understand and/or assist in the definition of business strategy. He measures his success by the ability to subsequently deliver the best executive to execute, facilitate, or enhance that strategy and help the company achieve its goals.

Mark has spent the last decade developing friendships with and evaluating the

capabilities and performance of business leaders. Prior to NorthWind, he was Vice

President of a retained executive search boutique he helped build to work with

technology & services companies across multiple sectors. He also helped establish the technology and engineering practice for the southeastern office of a global executive

search firm where his clients included 6 of the Top 20 DoD primes. Before his career in

search, Mark held management roles in corporate strategy, business development, and

strategic marketing with a publicly-traded communications company, where he became

the youngest regional director in the 50-year history of the company’s US operations.

Mark serves on the board of Central Asia Sharing Aid, a non-profit Christian

organization committed to caring for & providing education to needy or disabled

children and orphans in Central Asia. He is actively involved in numerous trade

associations and community organizations. Mark has published articles related to

succession planning and other business issues. In the past, he was named to Business

Tennessee's top 30 most influential business leaders under the age of 30. He holds a

Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics from Wheaton College and has

completed advanced course work in corporate finance and valuation.

Mark is a first generation Asian-American that enjoys cycling, triathlons, tennis, and

golf. Mark, and his wife, Lauren, have three children, Brady, Zoe, and Sadie.
