biography

Al Giesen, Managing Director, joined Stone Murphy in 1996. His career, after two years as a CPA with Arthur Andersen & Co, has been all about hiring the best people. Initially he recruited finance and accounting professionals at a national search firm; then built his own staff while leading and growing various Midwest offices. At Stone Murphy, Al partners with clients to bring them the best leadership talent available.

Al leads Stone Murphy’s Middle Market, Private Equity and CFO practices. He has built a reputation by consistently delivering a high quality search process and an outcome for his clients that positively impacts their business.

Al has conducted numerous local and national executive search assignments on behalf of a broad range of Middle Market and Private Equity owned companies. He is experienced in the completion of searches from C-level through Director level in general management and the functional areas of accounting, finance, operations, sales, marketing, human resources and legal.

Al’s Financial Services sector experience includes a variety of investment, sales and finance searches for broker dealers, asset management and insurance companies.

Al received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. He is

a CPA (inactive).
