biography

As Practice Leader of Strategy and Business Improvement, Cindy's experience includes consulting to Manitoba businesses on a range of strategic, governance, organizational and human resource issues. Examples of previous assignments in the private, public and not-for-profit sector include:

Led numerous strategic planning assignments applying the Balanced Scorecard and other strategic planning methodologies. Projects included SWOT analysis, identifying key strategic issues and critical success factors, developing strategic alternatives, and facilitating the development of vision, mission, and values statements.
Assisted companies with business planning and developed tools for managing strategy execution.
Led process improvement assignments to identify opportunities to reduce costs and/or improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Projects have included examinations of roles, responsibilities, processes, employee engagement, organization structure, and workload levels.
Conducted organizational and governance reviews supported by action plans for implementing the recommendations. Areas of focus included governance, finance, marketing, fundraising (where appropriate) and organizational effectiveness. For these assignments, a significant number of interviews were conducted with Board members, staff and external stakeholders.
Performed research, surveys, interviews and analysis to support strategic decision making.
On an ongoing basis, provide advice to management teams as a human resource expert related to recruitment, performance issues, compensation, career counselling, Employer of Choice initiatives, conflict, and performance evaluation.
Project managed numerous HR related assignments including executive recruiting, compensation design, job analysis, leadership development, and performance management.

Cindy completed a Balanced Scorecard Master Class taught by the methodology founders, Dr. David Norton and Dr. Robert Kaplan. This continuing education has allowed Cindy to provide advanced expertise when applying the strategic management system for several client organizations. Cindy recently completed the Prosci Change Management Certification Program.

Prior to joining Harris Consulting, Cindy was a consultant with Ernst & Young for 11 years. She earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and holds her Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation.
