biography

Edward J. Cloutier founded American Executive Management, Inc. {AEM} in 1977. His business expertise is derived from assisting top management of many domestic and international engineering construction companies to improve their business strategies, markets and organizations.

Mr. Cloutier’s experience and extensive worldwide executive contacts have enabled him to provide vision and valuable strategic business insights. He has been a key participant in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, re-organizations and turnarounds. He is skilled in competitive market evaluations, strategic planning and organizational restructuring.

Over the past 25 years, he has conducted over 100 management consulting assignments in 41 countries, for over 70 of the World’s leading engineering and construction corporations involved with: power, heavy civil, transportation, infrastructure, process, airport, bridges, biopharm-aceutical, oil, gas, industrials and commercial building. Clients include such firms as: ABB, Bechtel, Biehl Offshore, Black & Veatch, BMW, BP, Bovis, British Telcom, Brown & Root, Burns & Roe, Chiyoda, Coastal, Comprimo, Exxon, FMC, Ford, General Electric, General Mills, GKN Ltd., Honeywell, Holtzmann, J. AEM has been selected by industry publications as one of the top international executive search firms and one of the “leading 50” in the USA.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Mr. Cloutier holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has completed advanced manage-ment programs. He is a Member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Earlier in his career, he worked for two international management consulting firms, and specialized in the Power, Heavy Civil, and Process industries. Prior to entering the consulting profession, he served as an Officer in the United States Navy.

Mr. Cloutier is active in international philanthropic service and is a recipient of the Massachusetts United Way Patriots Award. He is married and the father of three daughters.
