biography

Dan Chan specializes in the Industrial, Telecommunications, Medical and Professional Services practices, as well as Family Business and Financial Officers sectors, leveraging his almost 30 years' China and AP regional experience in corporate/business finance and business development management in MNCs and POEs (privately owned enterprises).

Before Amrop, he was the regional finance head of Andrew Wireless Solution (acquired by CommScope in 2008) for 10 countries in Asia Pacific. Prior to that, Dan was VP Sales & Marketing for a family business in the apparel industry after five years of regional leadership roles in Finance, IT and Logistics at Lubrizol. Dan has built global and regional business partnerships with executives and leaders from very diverse background.

Dan started his career with Peat Marwick (KPMG) before he joined Bank of Boston and Hewlett Packard in Hong Kong. In 1993, he ventured to Qingdao, led the JV conversion into a WOFE for HP's medical instrument business in China. Success and perseverance brought him to various senior finance and executive roles in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Suzhou in the next twenty years. Later Dan managed BD and supply chain in an apparel family business, developing business in the US and Korea. He had also served as BOD of a listed company and various local companies across Asia.

As a business-savvy leader in finance and corporate services, Dan is a highly customer focused listener, risk mitigator and strategy executor, with particular insight in major countries like China, Japan, India and Australia. His customers, internal and external, find him trustful and visionary in supporting their achievement of business goals and solving their finance challenges. He has been instrumental in centralizing, decentralizing, right-sizing, outsourcing and re-modelling operations in tandem with business growth and strategy.

Dan holds a EMBA from the University of Southern California in the U.S.A (a joint program with Shanghai Jiao Tong University). He is fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Hong Kong Institute of CPA. Married with 2 sons, Dan speaks English, Putonghua, Cantonese and basic Shanghainese.
